Kodi on the Apple TV 4, it's what many of us had been waiting for but didn't expect it to be this hard to install. For the non techie, average person who really does not meddle in computers this may not be the way to go. Although, I must say it is the way I KODI :).
I love Kodi on my Apple TV 4 because for me the product stands above the rest. Obviously that is debate-able but to each his own.
I personally Installed Kodi via apple Developer ID which means I will have it for a year. Alternatively, one may jailbreak and install permanently but you will loose a lot when it comes to product quality and enjoyment as updates are released.
Step 1: Lets get Some Downloads
Step 2: Navigate and login to the Apple Developer Member Center
Use your existing Apple ID (or create a new one) in order to activate developer privileges.
* At this point remember if you don't get a full developer account you'll have to reinstall every seven days.
Step 3: Connect the Apple TV 4 to your computer using the USB-C cable.
Make sure that it is already connected to a monitor and powered on. Close iTunes.
Step 4: Launch the Cydia Impactor.
Your Apple TV should be recognized.
Windows Users: Do not use the Run as Administrator function!
Step 5: Unzip the Kodi IPA ZIP File from step 1, then drag the the IPA file into the Cydia Impactor window.
Step 6: Input your Apple ID email address when prompted.
Step 7: Wait a few minutes for Kodi to install
Step 10: You’re done!
Now remember these steps will have to be followed every 7 days. Alternatively you may purchase the $99 developer account and keep the app for a year.
